RV Pre-Detail Preparation Checklist

A Success Guide for Eagle Star Detail Customers

Proper preparation is the key to maximizing the results of your RV detailing service. By following this comprehensive checklist, you'll ensure that our team can deliver exceptional results efficiently and safely.

1 Site Logistics & Access

Prepare your location for safe and efficient service

Clearance

Ensure there is at least 3–5 feet of unobstructed space around the entire perimeter of the RV or vehicle.

Level Ground

Park on a flat, stable surface (concrete or asphalt is preferred) to ensure safe ladder usage and even chemical application.

Access Codes

If you live in a gated community or keep your RV in a storage facility, please provide gate codes or notify security in advance.

2 Utilities (Water & Power)

Ensure essential utilities are accessible

Water Connection

Please identify the nearest outdoor spigot. If you are using a well-water system, kindly let us know in advance so we can monitor for hard water spots.

Electrical Access

Ensure a standard 120V exterior outlet is functional and accessible within 50 feet of the service area.

3 Interior Decluttering

Prepare the interior for comprehensive cleaning

Personal Items

Remove all personal belongings, trash, and valuables from the cabin, storage bays, or interior living spaces.

Organizers

Empty any consoles or glove boxes you wish to have cleaned and conditioned.

Fragile Decor

For RVs, please secure or remove loose decor, dishes, or electronics that could shift during an interior deep clean.

4 Exterior Readiness

Prepare your RV's exterior for detailing

Slides & Awnings

Unless otherwise instructed, please keep slides "in" for the initial wash and "out" if you have requested slide-seal conditioning or topper cleaning.

Windows & Vents

Double-check that all windows, roof vents, and skylights are tightly sealed to prevent water intrusion.

5 Pet & Child Safety

Protect your loved ones during service

Clear the Zone

For the safety of our team and your loved ones, please keep pets and children inside while the detail is in progress. High-pressure equipment and professional-grade chemicals will be in use.

Why Preparation Matters

Maximizing Your Results

When the "skin" of an RV—whether it's Fiberglass Gelcoat, Full-Body Paint, or Aluminum Panels—is easily accessible and clear of debris, the detailer can spend more time on the restoration phase (like buffing out oxidation) and less time on logistical hurdles.

🛡️

Efficiency and Safety

Mobile detailing involves moving heavy equipment and using specialized lighting. Providing a clear, level workspace reduces the risk of accidents and ensures the ceramic coatings or sealants are applied under optimal, stable conditions.

💬

Communication is Key

If your RV has specific "trouble spots," such as heavy pine sap from a recent trip or stubborn hard water scaling from Boise's local water, please point these out at the start of the appointment. This allows the technician to select the right specialized cleaners for the job immediately.
